The Netherlands will not send an entry to Eurovision 2027 in Burgas. The EBU confirmed NPO's decision in a statement published on 27 October.
Dutch audiences will still be able to follow the competition: the EBU says the contest will continue to be broadcast in the Netherlands.
What the EBU has confirmed
Contest director Martin Green said the organisation respects NPO's decision and the strength of feeling in the country. The EBU intends to continue discussions with NPO and Dutch fans.
The statement also recognises the Netherlands' long involvement in Eurovision, dating back to the first contest in 1956.
It does not set a date for a Dutch return. Nor does it announce a replacement entrant for 2027.
The latest participation picture
A separate release on 28 October confirms 36 broadcasters for Burgas, with the Netherlands absent from the list. Spain and Slovenia have until December to confirm their decisions; their status should not be confused with the Dutch withdrawal.

What fans planning a trip should check
The three live shows remain scheduled for 11, 13 and 15 May 2027. Our Eurovision calendar collects the dates, while the ticket guide follows official sale information.
The withdrawal statement concerns participation. It does not announce changes to the Burgas show dates or new ticket arrangements. If you are still considering a visit, compare hotel options and read each property's cancellation conditions before committing.
