Pack for your Eurovision trip in three groups: travel documents, the things you need on arrival, and a small bag for show day. Keep those groups separate so your passport, accommodation details and phone charger are easy to reach.

This checklist covers the practical side of Eurovision travel, from departure to show day. Adapt it to your route, airline and event. Check the organiser's current entry rules before choosing what to take into a show.

Start with documents and confirmations

For EU citizens travelling within the EU and Schengen countries, carry a valid passport or national identity card. A driving licence is not a travel document. Children need their own passport or identity card. Travellers with other nationalities should check the entry requirements that apply to their passport and route.

  • Put your original travel document in an accessible zipped pocket.
  • Save your transport booking and accommodation confirmation together.
  • Write down the property's address, check-in instructions and contact number.
  • Once you have a show ticket, keep the seller's access instructions with it.

Use our Eurovision ticket guide to follow sale information. A transport reservation or hotel booking does not replace a ticket for the show.

Pack the first evening separately

Imagine arriving before your room is ready. Which things would you want without opening your whole suitcase? Put those items in one accessible pouch or compartment.

Keep within reach Check before leaving
Phone and charging cable Cable fits the phone and plug
Accommodation address Arrival time and check-in arrangements
Clothes for the first evening Weather forecast and planned walking
Toiletries for the journey Airport security rules if flying
Return-journey details Departure point and booking reference

Choose comfortable shoes you have already worn. Pack a light layer if the forecast calls for one, rather than filling your bag with clothes for every possible condition.

If you are still comparing places to stay, check arrival arrangements alongside the room price. Save the final confirmation after booking, not a screenshot of an earlier search result.

If flying, check the bag before the airport

Check your airline's cabin-bag dimensions, weight allowance and rules for batteries before packing. Airport security rules and the baggage allowance attached to your fare are separate checks.

For liquids at EU airport security, the European Commission's published guidance specifies containers no larger than 100 ml inside one transparent, resealable bag of up to one litre. Essential medicines and baby food have exceptions. Check your departure and transfer airports for current instructions before travelling.

Keep toiletries together so you can follow screening instructions without unpacking everything. If you plan to bring a power bank, confirm your airline's requirements for that device first.

Make a smaller show-day checklist

Your flight bag and your show bag serve different purposes. Read the event's rules for bag size, bottles, flags, cameras and other items before deciding what goes with you.

  • Charge your phone and check the ticket app or access instructions.
  • Keep your travel document available if the organiser requires identification.
  • Save the route back to your accommodation.
  • Agree a meeting point with friends in case you split up.
  • Leave anything the organiser prohibits at your accommodation.

For time between Eurovision plans, our Burgas city guide can help you decide which walks or stops fit your day. Choose the route first, then pack for it.

The last check before you leave

Open the actual booking confirmations. Compare the names, dates, arrival times and addresses, then check your document's validity. Put your charger back in your bag after using it.

Finally, review the latest airline, airport and event instructions. Keep a short note of anything still unconfirmed, such as a transfer or check-in arrangement, so you can resolve it before departure.
